In Barranquilla there are over 150,000 homeless and abandoned animals in need to find a new home. Our city does not have a city shelter, there is also no budget to help Non Profits that could shelter any. By law Non Profits are also the only entities that can assist the Environmental Police and The SPA, Sociedad Protectora de Animales to remove, provide care for and give up for adoption any dog or cat that was found in Deplorable Conditions, victim of Abuse or Complete Negligence.

Rescuers with shelters are very few in our city, all shelters together can only handle a capacity of about 500 to 600 animals if you put us together. This means whenever an animal is rescued Fundación Pet Aid Colombia Animal Rescue must take immediate action to ensure its well being and possible adoption to make room for one more. At the moment we are full and also need funds to take care of the ones we have. At times we even struggle for the most basic needs such as food and cleaning supplies.- could you help us?

Our culture lacks empathy towards animals and daily there are so many cases we try to save those we can. due to limited funds we can sometimes handle only one or two cases per month and our space is also extremely limited. Locals Hardly ever donate and many times we are left hanging on a promise that they will help.Most Pledges are never honored or usually hardly enough to do much for the animals. We really need your help!
